San Francisco March 16, 2010 - CORESTAFF Services (www.corestaff.com) has named Lauren Steel as Vice President and General Manager of the Western Region. Reporting directly to President and Chief Executive Officer James Boone, Steel will be based out of San Francisco, with sales and service responsibility over all CORESTAFF offices in the West Coast, Southwest and Rocky Mountain states. Steel assumed her new role on March 15.

Steel will work with the executive team and sector heads to grow market share and revenue across the region by delivering new staffing capabilities and service offerings as well as developing relationships with new companies.

Steel comes to CORESTAFF with more than 25 years of diverse sales, marketing and senior management experience and a proven track record of success in the staffing industry. Her most recent role before joining CORESTAFF was with WorkforceLogic (Nelson Staffing) in Sonoma and Pleasanton, California, as an executive with responsibility over VMS (Vendor Management System) solutions for clients with local and global workforces.

During her role as the General Manager for Spherion’s Western Region, Steel oversaw more than $275 million in combined revenues across California, Oregon and Washington and worked with blue-chip clients such as Warner Bros., Siemens, Kaiser Permanente and Home Depot.

She started her career as a Vice President with Wollborg/Michelson Personnel Services in San Francisco where she increased net operating income, expanded the branch network and implemented the first on-site program for The Gap.

Steel earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration in Marketing Management from Montclair State University.
