CORESTAFF SERVICES RECOGNIZES
ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS WEEK

Houston, TX (April 19, 2004) - National workforce solutions provider CORESTAFF Services joins staffing companies and corporations across the country in recognizing the 52nd anniversary of Administrative Professionals Week ® *, April 18-24, 2004. This annual event was originally organized as “National Secretaries Week” by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and a consortium of office product manufacturers during the week of June 1-7, 1952. It was established as an effort to recognize secretaries for their contributions in the workplace, and to attract people to secretarial/administrative careers. Over the years, Administrative Professionals Week has become one of the largest workplace observances.

The IAAPs theme for the 2004 observance of Administrative Professionals Week is “Ambassadors of Excellence”, which signifies that administrative professionals are key front-line representatives of their employers and their profession.

Today, there are more than 4.1 million secretaries and administrative assistants working in the United States, according to U.S. Department of Labor statistics, and 8.9 million people working in various administrative support roles. Today’s administrative professional works more independently than ever before, handles a wide range of information-related tasks and handles more management-level responsibilities. The typical secretary of 1952 answered phones, took dictation, arranged schedules and typed letters for one executive. The administrative professional of today often conducts research and commerce over the Internet, produces financial reports with charts and graphics, creates multi-media presentations, plans meetings and special events, and handles a variety of other tasks using advanced office technology.

“Today’s administrative professionals handle everything from project coordination to communication and they must possess critical thinking skills and the ability to keep up with ever-changing technologies,” said Steve Drexel, CORESTAFF Services’ president and chief executive officer. “By assuming a wider range of responsibilities administrative professionals greatly contribute to the success of organizations across the country and around the world.”

Drexel is an economist and a member of the Business Research Advisory Council of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

CORESTAFF Services supplies administrative professionals for temporary assignments nationwide. The Company has 6,600 people working in these administrative support roles today. In 2003, CORESTAFF filled 29,554 administrative professional positions.

Many Americans are turning to staffing companies to seek out their first job or to re-enter the workforce, and a growing number of individuals find temporary employment represents an ideal work solution. CORESTAFF Services offers many benefits to its temporary employees including highly competitive wages, flexible work schedules, temporary-to-direct hire assignments, skills training, and health benefits.
