JOB TITLE: Document Control Specialist


the nation's leading single-source supplier of gases, welding and safety products, is in the process of standardizing and digitizing operating procedures so they can be executed using mobile devices. The Document Control Specialist, SOP Digitization Project is responsible for oversight of the document control process throughout the project. This role ensures compliance with established procedure design, review, approval, and traceability requirements. This role is also responsible for defining requirements for performing document control activities and the development of supporting work instructions and records.


  • Oversee the management of controlled documentation throughout the document lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain accurate traceability records for the transition of procedures from the existing document control platform, Intelex, to the Procedure Accelerator platform
  • Perform quality control reviews of submitted documentation to determine compliance relating to content, approval, traceability, and other requirements
  • Coordinate action with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues identified during reviews
  • Coordinate document control activities with project team and manage time to meet entity implementation timelines
  • Archive obsolete documents after implementation of new digitized procedures
  • Support development, testing, documentation, and improvement of process workflows for writing, review, approval, publishing, training, and related process steps
  • Develop Quality team work instructions for digital procedures tasks and application interaction
  • Deliver training and/or guidance on document-related roles and workflows
  • Produce useful, accurate, and collaborative information in a workgroup environment, working closely with project, IT, facility, and Quality Management Systems teams
  • Actively participate in meetings and presentations related to digital procedures
  • Present weekly updates on procedure review, publishing, and archival status
  • Provide documentation, reports, and status updates as requested
  • Support creation and control of computer system validation records for the digital procedures system
  • Drive safety and quality in all aspects of work
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • 2+ years of experience in document control or quality systems
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with operating procedures
  • Technical writing experience
