Entry Level Quality Assurnace Technician
Shift 3rd 7:00pm to 3:30am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
Prepares and maintains QA Team’s Job descriptions. Communicates job expectations and conducts performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to staff. Enforces Safety policies and procedures applicable to QA team.
o Provides input on budgetary planning and monitoring. Accountable for meeting departmental budgetary goals and conducts routine reviews of budge to support Company’s financial goals. Assures quality and food safety programs are value driven activities and are within the site budget expectations.
o Guides Quality Control processes to ensure accurate and efficient testing and control systems are in place. Assures that test methodologies are defined, documented, equipment/tools maintained and staff trained.
o Reviews, communicates, and leads the site cross-functional teams on investigations related to internal product failures and/or environmental issues. Assures that corrective and preventive actions are successfully implemented.
o Assures successful compliance to Regulatory, Industry, Customers, Bakkavor Central and SQF requirements.
o Maintains and monitors site quality and food safety KPIs and works cross-functionally to escalate any issues directly with General Manager and Senior Technical Team. Prepares monthly Quality/Food Safety Reports for Corporate Technical management review.
o Develop and manages internal auditing program to assure compliance with Company’s procedures and regulatory requirements. Assures that internal audits are conducted timely and continuous improvement opportunities identified are carried out.
o Conducts HACCP/HARCP and Process audits to assure compliance to food safety management program and product quality/safety.
o Works with Operations to evaluate and develop process improvements to ensure overall safety and quality of products
o Assures non-conforming material, in process and finished goods are handled timely via non-conforming process. Works with corporate team to assure that non-conformances are not systematic across multiple sites.
o Assures Quality Control/Assurance specifications for products (sensory, physical, analytical and microbial) are maintained and followed by QA team. Assures that proper visual standards are in place and inspection records are properly review and accurate.
o Responsible to maintain site related data and databases related to CAPA, Hold, Environmental Data, FG specifications, HACC P and Customer Complaints.
o Developing and delivering training to ensure the organization understands and embraces quality and food safety procedures.
o Maintains the Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) process, and ensuring timely follow-up and implementation of corrective actions.
o Works with site General Manager and Corporate QA on defining key annual site quality and food safety initiatives along with implementation timelines.
o Manages alignment of Company/site quality and food safety systems to develop and drive continuous improvements.
o Works in a highly cross-functional environment driving team work and collaboration within plant and across Bakkavor plants. Leads cross-functional projects as delegated by technical and senior management.
o Communication with management on matters related to quality and food safety to assure full resolution of open issues and identification of potential risk.
II. Technical Expertise (Quality, Food Safety, and Regulatory)
• Departmental Expertise
o Responsible for assuring quality, food safety and regulatory programs/processes are successfully implemented at manufacturing site.
o Assures successful compliance of 3rd party certifications working cross-functionally and provides technical guidance to departmental managers/supervisors.
o Develops reviews and successfully implements environmental monitoring practices in alignment with Company’s strategies and regulatory guidelines.
o Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, environmental/sanitation issues, stability studies, recalls, corrective/preventive actions and re-validations.
o Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verification procedures, monitoring inventories. Assures Quality Control tasks are defined along with the proper tools/training, as required.
o Acts as Technical liaison during regulatory visits/inspections and assures that proper communication and follow up on areas of opportunity are communicated to plant and corporate
