CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST

Location: Toledo, OH

Pay Rate: $15 Hourly

The Customer Service Specialist (CSS) on the Customer Support Team is the first point of contact to address our customer needs when there are service exceptions (e.g. returns, shortages) and balances the best interest of the Customer and company. The purpose of this position is to provide a consistent, repeatable approach to define, assign, and analyze root cause of our exceptions. This role is part of the Order-to-Cash team within the Global Business Services organization and reports to the Customer Support Team Leader.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Service our Customers
• Deliver consistent service to our customers
• Maximize every opportunity to help customer with service exceptions and/or returns
• Take proactive actions to meet customer needs and concerns creating win/win solutions
• Enter service exceptions and code accurately
• Create returns and adjustments accurately & timely
• Execute on opportunities to turn returns into reconsignments
• Create returns and ensure product is removed from customer location as quickly as possible
• Develop customer trust by consistently following through on actions and operating with integrity
Operate in a waste free environment
• Effectively use Lean Sigma methodology and tools to support a waste free environment
• I Identify and take action to eliminate non-value added activities within day to day operations
• Identify opportunities for, develop, maintain and execute Standard Work

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High schedule degree
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• SAP/CRM experience desired
• Previous experience in an ever-changing, fast-paced customer service environment
• Demonstrated independence and ability to work individually as needed
• Previous experience creating solutions in the best interest of the company and the customer
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications
• Ability to create, analyze data, and report out using pivot tables
• Knowledge of building materials industry preferred
• Supply Chain knowledge
