CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST

Location: Toledo, OH

Pay Rate: $15 hourly

Shift: 1st

This role is very important to our customers as this timely information can save them time
and money. This role will require knowledge of both transportation and customer service, blurring
the lines between the two areas. This role will be a key next step in delivering high level service to
our customers.
JOB DESCRIPTION

1.Reporting and Documentation:
a. Use Event Manager reporting to Identify late pick ups
b. Review data to follow through on new ETA’s to customers
c. Document late delivery with appropriate details in Event Manager
d. Close out customer communication and document via CRM
2. Communication:
a. Work with carriers to improve their communication to OC
b. Deliver accurate and timely information to customers when gaps exist
c. Improve carrier communication timeliness
d. Identified and decrease time in finding gaps and communicating to customers
3. Operate in a Waste Free Environment
a. Effectively use Lean Sigma methodology and tools (standard work) to support a
waste free environment
b. Identify and take action to eliminate non-value-added activities within day to day
operations
Identify opportunities for, develop, maintain and execute Standard Work
c. Understand and promote the use of customer tools and technology
Metrics
• Service Metric: Service Level / Abandonment Rate / Accessibility / Adherence
• Carrier & Customer Feedback
• Communication time
• EDTA Audits
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school degree

EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• SAP experience desired
• Previous experience in an ever-changing, fast-paced customer service environment
• Previous experience creating solutions in the best interest of the company and the customer

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Fluency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of building materials industry preferred
• Supply Chain knowledge
