MATERIAL HANDLER

Location: Ontario, CA

Shift: 6:45am - 3:30pm

Pay Rate: $16.50/hr

Material Handlers will work in the receiving department and may be rotated between all areas of the Distribution Center, to include shipping, inventory and returns. Duties include unloading containers, receiving parts, putting away parts, user movements, mechanized equipment operation, RF gun use and cycle counting. Material handlers may perform special duties as requested and / or work on special projects in the distribution center. Material handlers must be able to work 8 hours on first shift. (7am to 3:30pm).

Material Handlers MUST:

A. Operate all mechanized equipment as necessary.

OR

B. Be willing to be trained on all mechanized equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Receive freight, including unloading containers.
  2. Ensure C-TPAT requirements are met, including an internal visual inspection.
  3. Accurately identify, count, sort and verify parts using receiving documents.
  4. Stock parts based on part number and location using RF technology.
  5. Operate all mechanized equipment as necessary.
  6. Willingness to be trained on all mechanized equipment.
  7. Maintain clean and safe working areas. Display good housekeeping habits.
  8. Work within specified hazardous material handling requirements.
  9. Work within SAP and Red Prairie computer systems.
  10. Perform cycle counts and physical inventories when required.
  11. Cross train in all other departments.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned

Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience Job/Industry

  • 1-3 years of warehousing experience
  • Mechanized equipment experience (required for some positions
  • Preferred experience forklift, reach, order picker, etc...

Skills:

  • Ability to operate mechanized machinery within all Safety and OSHA policies
  • Ability to use RF technology.
  • Able to take directions and follow instructions from supervisor or leadership team.
  • Use of personal computers in warehouse activities.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Heavy lifting up to 70 pounds
  • Sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and extensive standing/walking on concrete surfaces.
  • Warehouse environment with variant temperatures
  • When necessary, overtime may be required. As much advance notice as possible will be provided.
