Sr UX Researcher

Pay: $48 - $50/hour DOE

Contract Length: 3 months with possibility of extension and conversion

Hours: 9:00AM – 5:00PM

Job Description

This is a full-time position that is responsible for unraveling the complexities of personalizing individual reading experiences within a household. Informs and helps guide design decisions and experiences for e-readers and apps. Leverages research expertise and applied experience to propose, execute, and deliver research that influences end-to-end experience. Performs quick but thorough data analysis to create insightful and actionable plans with a willingness to advocate and escalate insights as appropriate. Delivers high-quality research reports, such as research plans, protocols, screeners, insight reports, highlight reels, etc. Identifies best method, or mix of methods, based on research questions, timeline and resourcing. Research will predominantly be generative, with some evaluative work. Works with the project manager and a third party agency on projects. Assists with other research-related tasks.

Required Qualifications:

• BA or BS in a relevant field.
• MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• 7+ years of applied industry experience conducting user research.
• Must have past work experience examples where research informed decision-making and product strategy.
• Must have applied experience of a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, including remote research.
• Previous experience from end-to-end work with all aspects of the user research lifestyle, such as study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, and communicating.
• Must have broad knowledge of research methodologies and the proven ability to execute the right methodology to get the needed result.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills when working with aggressive deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to assess situations and change directions based on priorities.
• Strong planning, organizing, and coordinating skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrate initiative and positive proactive mindset.MA/MS or PhD in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or related discipline.
• Previous experience with applied research with diverse customers of all ages and backgrounds.
• Applied research experience with diverse customers of all ages and backgrounds.
• Previous experience with data collection and processing.
• Previous experience with consumer electronic research.
